I waited for years before deciding whether or not to have surgery. As you know, in society, lumbar disc herniation surgery isn't considered a good idea because of the risk of recurrence. There's a perception that doesn't quite align with scientific evidence. As a result, with my pain increasing, I consulted Professor Gökhan. He's a very caring and knowledgeable surgeon, and he convinced me to have surgery from our very first meeting. He gave me tremendous confidence. And so I decided to have the surgery. This is an absolutely unacceptable doctor. Seven months ago, he performed a normal herniated disc surgery on my mother, inserting 8 screws and a cage. During the surgery, he tore the meninges (the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord) and caused an infection due to his poor workmanship. Initially, when we asked about the leakage from my mother's back, he dismissed it as normal and nothing important. He also drained the leakage four times with injections, ruining my mother's life, and the infection developed into an abscess. We had to give her intravenous antibiotic treatment for three months. Sadly, she still can't take care of herself. We've seen countless professors, and everyone says the surgery could be done without screws. It's a tragedy, but nobody will properly accept a patient ruined by someone else. We've started physical therapy now, but we don't know if it will be effective. We've suffered; my mother has been in bed for months, in agony. Don't make the same mistake.
